21 April 2014 – Wraysbury Lake

On Easter Monday a group of us headed off to Wraysbury to support Mark to complete his S01 Diver Rescue lesson. Instructor George was supported by Charles who acted as the body and Dani as rescue helper along with Dave who came along to act as shore cover and to keep us company.

Wraysbury was surprisingly un-busy and as an added bonus the sun came out too.

Mark and George swiftly completed the lesson and 2 short dives followed.

The first one pairing up George and Mark as well as Charles and Dani.  Dani had brought her new compass along to play around with it rather than genuinely using it, but soon was told that if you swim 55 degrees “that way” you’ll find a boat. Viz was reasonably good by Wraysbury standards and surprisingly we did manage to find a boat along with a very confident pike.

After the first dive George had to leave but the rest of us had a quick lunch and then Mark, Charles and Dani got ready for the next dive with Dave very helpfully lending a hand while kitting up and acting as shore cover. This time we found some other boats and another pike (we like to think this one was slightly bigger anyway).

Overall a successful and relaxing early season day.  (DC)
