Welcome to the home page of BUDC - Banstead
Divers!
|
BUDC
is a friendly and active British Sub Aqua
Club branch who meet each Tuesday evening to train and talk
diving.
We welcome qualified divers from any diving organisation, who wish to dive regularly in the UK with like-minded
divers, as well as new members who wish to learn to dive.
We run 'Try Dives' for those who aren't sure if they will
enjoy diving, or just want to see what it's like. This will give
you the opportunity to have a go using scuba equipment and see what it's
all about, at a very reasonable price of £10.
Members are
encouraged to continue their training by attending Skill
Development Courses, either provided in-house or externally, and
groups visit the different Dive Shows, lectures and exhibitions
that are available.
For more
information about the club, joining or training, then click here
or click on any of the links at the top of the
page.

Banstead
Divers has its own RIB which is kept at
Littlehampton Marina
and we go out
most weekends between Easter and end of October, weather permitting.
See our Dive
Diary with reports (good and bad!) of the dives we have done
so far in 2011. Whether it is exploring one of the many
wrecks in the channel, drifting over a reef, or foraging for fresh
shellfish for dinner, each dive is different, and each member of
the club on the boat will have some input into the
day.
Getting the
boat ready, driving the boat out to or back from the dive site,
dropping the shot, assisting each other with kitting up and
recovery, even getting the chips when we get back. All makes
for an enjoyable day out on the sea.

Diving
in the Arctic Circle! A
few brave souls thought this was a good idea! So on 5th
September they departed to Narvik,
Norway. Read Julian's report.

A Typical Club Holiday??
Ibiza 2011 was a great time of diving and getting
close!!

Start training,
progress to a higher
qualification, or experience something new
|
|
Our friendly
instructors will make your
training enjoyable and will go at a pace that suits
you. First open water training dives are an
experience but unfortunately sometimes a bit chilly,
or even cold!
|
Try a 'dry dive' to 40m in the decompression chamber at Whipps
Cross Hospital or take a weekend to learn more about wrecks or
marine life.
