January 2014 – Defibrillator training & CPR refresher

The universal AED sign, developed by the International Liaison Committee on ResuscitationFollowing the purchase of a portable defibrillator for the boat as part of the grant received from the Sport England Lottery fund, Alan Kennedy has booked 2 dates in January 2014 for training sessions on the equipment combined with a CPR refresher.

All members are encouraged to attend one of the evenings – 7th or 14th.  Please contact Alan direct to book a place on one of the evenings which will start promptly at 21:00 in the football club function room.

  • The defib session comprises a power point presentation, equipment familiarisation, video and question/answer session for one hour.
  • CPR will involve you demonstrating you can perform effective resuscitation using our manikin – again one hour.

On behalf of the Club, the committee have fully supported Alan’s initiative in procuring a defibrillator and carrying out training in it’s use.  We are fortunate to have Alan and his experience as part of our club and appreciate the work that he has put into these training sessions.  Life support skills play a fundamental role in our training and Alan’s involvement enables us to enhance our knowledge and skills.
