Notes:
First dive of the
year!
5 minute descent to
40m on 21% mix, bit warm on descent and all had the need to clear ears
constantly, narcosis kicked in at the bottom – the ‘five pint’
effect! Mickey Mouse voice distortion and the shocking discovery
that we were unable to whistle at this depth. Reaction times tested and
compared with those done at the surface – all slower except Andrew?
Just goes to prove what a finely honed diving machine he really is!
Several small
sharks were spotted along with a toy kangaroo, was the narcosis causing
hallucinations?
All too soon our 10
minute bottom time was up and we started the 4 minute ascent through a
rather chilly ‘thermocline’ to 9m where we switched to 100% O2 as
our deco gas for 2 minutes then up to 6m for a further 5 minute safety
stop.
All divers surfaced
fit and well……and dry!
What a great way to
start the 2008 diving season.
Any member who has
not dived this site before should make the effort as it is both
educational and fun and doesn’t involve getting wet or lugging kit
around.
