Dive
4 - James Eagan Layne
|
What would a Plymouth weekend be without a dive on the James Eagan
Layne. For a couple of our newly trained divers this was their
first dive on a 'big wreck' or at least one that looked like a ship and
luckily their regulators stayed in their mouths as they gaped at the
huge hull of this much loved wreck. Those of us 'old hands' were
able to see the way the wreck is gradually deteriorating and a number of
holes had appeared in the side that hadn't been there before.
However, it was still a great dive to swim along the hull, covered with
dead men's fingers and then drift back through the holds looking up at
the wreck silhouetted against the light.
