Metal & Haggis in Scapa Flow

Group on cliff.jpg (141198 bytes)

A great week starting on 26th July, organised by Paul, diving off the Sharon Rose with Scapa Flow Charters.   The sea was flat every day, except one, and even the sun shone.  Kevin managed the boat (and divers!) admirably, and as for the brunches - well Eric did a great job!  Why doesn't someone put a mug of hot tea in my hand as soon as I get back on the rib??  Thanks Eric.

A report (still in progress) gives some details of the dives, but to show that the sun shone on a few occasions, here is a picture of the group above water.

Club Diving - Weather dependent!!!

However much we wanted to get out on the boat the weather was constantly against us, and when the sun did shine (once or twice!) and the wind dropped (occasionally!) the tides were badly timed and the marina wouldn't be able to recover the boat.  On the 3 occasions we were able to just about get out, some on the boat wished they hadn't!!  Let's hope that September and October give us a few more days diving.
