BUDC News - May/June 2008

Sangria & Paella (oh, we also did a few dives!)

A long weekend (Thurs-Mon) was arranged to a new destination for BUDC - L'Estartit on the Costa Brava, Spain to dive the Medas Islands.

Diving was with La Sirena Diving Centre, and we stayed in the self-catering Miami apartments. Diving was varied (2 dives a day) and although the sun didn't shine continuously, it was warm enough and the viz a lot better than we had in the channel the week before!  The water temperature was around 15 degrees so some  wished they had taken a drysuit instead of semi-dry.  See report (in progress).

3 May - Bank Holiday weekend diving

Propeller.JPG (236221 bytes)Trainees were keen to get out - Ocean divers for first dive off the rib, dive leaders for exercises, Sports divers for experience.  Again, our trusty  Training Officer was able to find and hit the only submerged object out of Littlehampton.  Find a wreck - might be a problem, hit an object underwater - every time!!

Jules soon put on the new prop.  Tim arranged for the engine to be inspected for the boat handling and diver coxon course.  Bryan, well he will just have to put up with the rude comments!!

Read Dave's report of the day.
