17 July 2018 – SS Gertrude

Paul, Mark, Charlie, Milton, Steve B

Intention was the M2 but with wind from SW at 20mph it got binned.
So we dive a sheltered spot and the SS Gertrude was the choice.
Nice dive this one. Loads of life around wreckage and large rocks which surround the wreck.
The British cargo ship Gertrude was wrecked in West Bay, Portland, in fog on August 26th, 1894. She was on voyage from Huelva (Spain) to Rotterdam carrying ore cargo.
We saw cuttle fish, lots of wrasse. Sea hares in a tight group was great spot also.

All in all a fab dive viz around 8mtrs and 50 min dive time.

Steve
