16 July 2017 – Wraysbury Training

Report by Derek Heath

This was Jenny and my second trip to Wraysbury.  The first one was for Jenny and myself to try out dry suits, hired there, and get used to them.  We ended up on a platform where Charles set off to discover what happened to Jenny.  The visibility was so bad that even I couldn’t see her and she was right next to me!

This time we were in our own dry suits and wanting to test them out.  Visibility was somewhat better than previously.  Jenny worked with George and ? on rescue skills while Mark worked with me on my DSMB deployment and compass work.  Weather was delightful – sunny with a cooling breeze.  We got to see the resident population of crayfish and a fair number of perch and some large tench.  All went well and on a later dive Jenny led the way as she navigated us over to the boat and other features.  Many thanks to George and Mark for taking the time to help us all improve our skills.

Some photos of the day
